Bangkok creates the 'Pokémon Go Police'

The new surveillance unit will travel the main avenues of the Thai city and fine up to 25 euros to the most reckless players

The metropolitan authority of Bangkok has created the 'Pokémon Go Police' with the mission of monitoring the main avenues of the city and to avoid that the "fans" of the game of the year cause a calamity in their hunting of "Pokémon", have informed the media local.

The new surveillance unit will have 50 agents armed with mobile phones with cameras that guard ten arteries of that metropolis inhabited by some eight million people, not counting the suburbs, according to the newspaper 'Bangkok Post'.

The selected streets are Sukhumvit, Phaya Thai, Rama I, Rama IV, Henri Dunant, Sathon, Phetchaburi, Phahon Yothin, Vibhavadi Rangsit and the roundabout of the Monument to Victory. The persecutors of 'pokémones' who with their reckless behavior threaten the circulation of vehicles and pedestrian traffic will be fined 1,000 baht (28,8 dollars or 25,5 euros).

'Pokémon G' is an adventure video game created by the American John Hanke and his company Niantic for iOS and Android devices and since its launch has created a revolution with tens of millions of users around the world.
