Huawei has the soul of a sprinter. You only need to see the evolution of the last years of the Chinese manufacturer. An image that has been reinforced with the election of the Berlin Velodrome -a titanic construction erected in the eastern part of the city- to present its novelties in this edition of the IFA.

Huawei has landed in the Teutonic capital with a new family of devices: the Nova. It is a family of medium-high range that will complement its flagship series: the P range and the Mate range.

The Asian manufacturer, third in the world ranking of mobile builders and second in the Android universe, now faces this type of appointment with the challenge of responding to the expectations created by the good work with terminals such as P9, Mate 8, Nexus 6P or your smart watch. Despite being a company with 30 years, the truth is that in the world of smartphones and consumer electronics is a relatively young competitor.

So Nova are phones that share the spirit of other models in the range such as the button on the back (where the fingerprint reader has), the roast or the strip where the camera is placed. It is a terminal with a five-inch screen, ideal for handling with one hand, and only 1.8 millimeters thick. It will come in four different colors: titanium, silver, gold and rose gold.

This mid-range terminal will be equipped with a Snapdragon 625 processor - eight-core - at 2.0 Ghz, which will be complemented with 3GB of RAM. A combination that promises a solvency more than enough. The internal memory of the different models can be expanded up to 128 GB with microSD cards.

In the multimedia section they have placed special emphasis on the front camera. It has an 8MPX sensor that has a series of improvements to improve selfies, such as a higher shutter speed or filters to beautify and make up the user. The main one will have a 12 megapixel sensor, with an autofocus system of 0.3 seconds, as well as an optical image stabilizer. It will also be able to record in 4K resolution.

5 hours of Pokémon Go

Its battery will be 3,020 mAh, which allows up to 16 hours of navigation with 4G and ensure, with a rational use of it, can offer up to two days of autonomy. Huawei has wanted to offer a new formula to measure the performance of the battery: the time it supports playing Pokémon Go.

The new Nova, according to the manufacturer's tests, lasts up to 5 hours in a row with this application, an authentic devouring energy due to geolocation and augmented reality.

Among other novelties, new commands are introduced to be able to use the knuckle as a pointer. Drawing an S will allow you to capture a larger size than the screen (for example from a web) and by double-tapping the screen, the recording of what is being viewed on the screen will start.

The Nova range will arrive with a Plus version. And Plus is more. Here and in China. So it will offer a larger battery (3,340 mAh) and a larger screen, reaching 5.5 inches in size. The Nova Plus camera will also have higher performance thanks to a 16 megapixel sensor.

The standard model will cost 399 euros and the Plus model 429 euros. It will be available as of this month.

New colors of the P9 and new tablet

In 2016 it seems that they maintain their enviable speed. In the first half of the year, its phone sales grew by 25% compared to last year, reaching over 60 million units sold.

Much of this success is due to the P9, its mobile whose cameras have been developed in collaboration with the legendary manufacturer Leica. Now they have presented two new editions: the P9 Blue and the P9 Red, which offers a new finish in metallic blue and an intense red, respectively. The starting price will be 549 euros.

The presentation was rounded off with a new tablet. The MediaPad M3 is an 8.4 inch tablet, full HD (2500x1600), with metallic finish and 5,100 mAh battery, capable of playing up to 11 hours of video. The fingerprint reader will also serve to navigate and allow you to execute commands to move across the screen with just that button. It will have the own Kirin 950 processor. The prices will go from 349 euros for the Wi-Fi version of 32 GB to 449 for the 64 GB LTE version.
